Many articles about blogging say that the writer(s) ought to stay on ONE subject and posts must relate to that main topic.
With this in mind, I took many entries off and saved them as drafts. I intend to edit and/or rewrite some posts. Others may appear on a new blog -- name to be decided later. Please understand that a few items must be deleted.

Jewel's Jobs
I've decided to list links to writing related jobs. There are a few on the left. But, I plan to put more on a web page. These are just links to job sites, not individual jobs, but I'm hoping that one or more of these links help someone obtain a writing related job.

I've Been Published
Yes, a site other than my own has published my writing. I am now the "Evansville Pets Examiner" for Examiner.com. The site "Examiner.com" is an online news source and I decided to apply for one of the Evansville, Indiana openings. I live in Owensboro, Kentucky and I chose to write about pets because I'm a Pet Sitter and a lifetime pet lover. Check out the link above to read and perhaps comment on the articles I've written so far.

My Domain
When I registered for a domain, I didn't realize how much "room" that included. But here is a beginning page called "Writer's Corner."

Comment About Lynard Skynard
Today, I decided to research Lynard Skynard, #1 or #2 of my favorite rock groups. I wrote the following on www.sunshineguestbooks.com/guestbook.php?id=nashvillepa
a memorial page about the band and the plane crash that killed 2 or 3 members of the group.

| Message | : | Terrific memorial. I fell in love with Lynard Skynard in 1978, in late April or early May. I was in Louisville, KY at a hotel I don't even remember the name of. But, there must have been a talent contest because an awesome band played, "Sweet Home Alabama." The song and deep bass rocked my very soul. Because I was raised with country and gospel music, I think this was the first ROCK song I saw being played on a stage. I know most people think of "Freebird" when they remember Lynard Skynard. But, for me, "Sweet Home Alabama" will always be my rock anthem. It wasn't until much later that I found out about the plane crash. I often wish that I could just go to Alabama and see the area(s) they sing about, and then find Ronnie's grave and lay some flowers on it. |

Custom Domain
Hey, blog readers. Today, I decided to buy a custom domain. Through Google (and GoDaddy), it only costs $10 a year. My new URL is www.jewelswriting.com . Don't worry about remembering that, though, because you will be, or already have been switched automatically.
Jewel out.

Storyarts - Prompt One
An object that can be . . . held in your hands.
It's a rather old book, but still in decent shape. The cover feels a little rough and some of its pages have been written on. The story inside was one of my son's favorites when he was little. I read it to him over and over again.
